The website

The region has its own website and I actively try to keep this up to date and current, On the website you will find the fixtures list, information about the region, past and future events.

I am also trying to add a bit of interest with regards to the picture quality and I am currently looking for spring time shots of your clubhouses if you can let me have them, I would be very grateful.

I will and do email you about the up and coming events that the region is holding and I hope that you find this information useful.

However, I can and will send out any golf related requests that you may require, such a committee questions and queries, does anyone have any information about this or that, where can I find out about such a thing or has anyone had any experience in dealing with etc etc –

Notifications about dodgy characters, break ins and such like- if you let me have it, I would be happy to send it out for you.

GCMA magazine

This is published on a regular basis and you should all be getting a copy – The editor is always looking for content so if you have anything that you feel maybe news worthy please send it in to them. The editors would also be happy to do a piece on your Club or individuals at your Club which just may give you a boost if you need one.

New Match Shirts

Following Glenmures decision to discontinue our current match shirt the Committee agreed to look at getting new ones- They are in navy ranging from a small to a XXL, They are in a light weight and breathable material and cost £25 each – I have 5 of the older style shorts for sale on the bargain rail at £10 if any one wants one- please see me after.

Regional Matches

The region plays three matches against Southern, London and Home Counties and East Anglia. I have sent out the match forms and thank you to those who have completed them. However, as our previous Captain didn’t win much silver last year Captain Grant will need all the support we can offer, so if you wish to get involved in playing in the matches please let me know via email or complete one of these forms. All the fixtures are on the website.

National AGM

The National AGM of which you are all invited is at Coxmore Golf Club on Nottinghamshire on the 15th April – a business meeting through the morning followed by lunch and then the opportunity to play their course if you wish, it would be great to get a number of our region there. Details on the GCMA website.

GCMA National Golf Day

This event is being held at Enville Golf Club which is south Birmingham near Stourbridge on Monday 10th June. Open to all GCMA members, it’s a great day out if you can get the time to attend. All details on the website or speak to Niki Hunter who is here today.

GCMA National Conference

This is held every other year and in November this year it will be staged at the DeVere Cotswold water park, near Cirencester. From Sunday 10th to Tuesday 12th this is a great opportunity to network, meet fellow minded managers and hears what’s hot and what’s not plus enjoying some great presenters and speakers.

If we can get enough managers to attend, I will organise a regional table at the Conference dinner.

Details will be on the GCMA website and I will notify you nearer the time.

Spring Meeting

Our next meeting is the Spring meeting at Muswell Hill the 15th May and I will be sending out information shortly – The Captain and I do hope to see you there.

We have seen a general increase in numbers attending the regions events and we hope that this is a trend that continues to grow- we had over 50 managers and their guests attend the Christmas golf and lunch at Verulam and although we were very messy and boisterous a good time was had by all.

I would like to thank all the managers that have hosted out region over the last twelve months your support is greatly appreciated.

I would also add that we are always looking for venues and interesting speakers so if you feel you can help in any way please do drop me a mail.

We have had a number of leavers this year and number of joiners and the final tally is being agreed by HQ as we speak.

However, I am delighted to welcome any new managers here today and hope that you will embrace the region and its workings.

We have also had the managers from the Shire and Brockett Hall join also so I do hope that we will have the opportunity to see them in the very near future and perhaps a visit to their Clubs too.

The Regions accounts had previously circulated and there were no questions about the presentation of the accounts. – These were proposed by Richard Hall and Seconded by Martin Bennett.

Secretary’s Honorarium – No Change proposed
