Past Captains Golf Day

Despite being a blustery and on occasion quite a wet day at Northwood Golf Club the inaugural Chilterns and Home Counties Past Captains golf day took place on Thursday 17th October.

Our Past Captains are now spread all across the nation and even into Europe, and although a number were away on holidays and a number dealing with various ailments and health complaints on this occasion, we managed to have six Past Captains attend the event.

The day started with a warm welcome from our host, General Manager, Ray Grant and in brilliant sunshine we set off full of anticipation for some golf which was played to some very different standards and levels but enjoyed by all.

After one or two heavy showers and eighteen holes over a beautifully presented course, we returned to the Club house for a welcome lunch of a delicious winter soup, followed by rack of lamb and a mille feuile to finish us off.

This event was inspired by Richard Hall (Captain in 2018) he made the presentation speeches and presented the prizes.

The winner’s decanter was kindly donated by Philip Vince from Majestic Crystal, and Richard also sponsored the wine.

The winner on the day was Richard Hall who won with 34 points.

Richard then presented each of the Past Captains a bottle of the excellent wine.
