Autumn Meeting at Hadley Wood Golf Club

On the 16th September, under strict Covid-19 guidelines, Managers and staff representing some 25 Clubs from the region met at Hadley Wood for a morning’s discussion on Covid and the issues that this has caused over the last fiew months.

Some of the topics which we discussed were:

  • Covid testing
  • Redundancies 
  • AGM procedures - going virtual 
  • Track and Trace
  • Members discipline
  • Food and Beverage operations and seating issues
  • Winter months planning 
  • Future lockdowns
  • Christmas functions
  • Swindles and society groups 
  • Members competitions 
  • Membership fees /holding/increasing/reducing 
  • Benchmarking 
  • England Golf and grant
  • England Golf vs PGA vs GCMA
  • The wearing of face masks
  • EHO and Covid police 

Drawing to the end of the meeting  Louis Matamala  County Secretary, gave an overview of the World Handicap System and answered questions to the best of his knowledge.              We thank Louis for doing this for the session.

Following lunch, the group broke to play golf for the Autumn Salver.

The results on the day were as follows:

In 4th place with 30 points was Ray Grant from Northwood Golf Club.

In 3rd place with 31pts, beaten on count back, was Seb Frankiss from Muswell Hill GC.

In 2nd place with 31pts was Jonathan Kaltner from West Herts Golf Club.

The winner on the day was our host and General Manager from Hadley Wood, David Jackson with 32pts- well done David 

On behalf of all the attendees and the Captain, I would like to thank David, and the two Nicky’s who look after us all so well on the day, as did all the team at Hadley Wood who are a great asset to the Club.
