2021 Spring Meeting

Spring Meeting at Brickendon Grange Golf Club

The region recently held its Spring Meeting at Brickendon Grange Golf Club.

Twenty seven managers from throughout the region attended the meeting which hosted a number of industry speakers throughout the morning.

We heard from presenters covering such topics as:

  • Club Governance
  • Sales and communications
  • Website set up presentation and managing leads
  • IT services and software solutions
  • Water sustainability
  • Brewery services and products.

Following a light lunch we were treated to playing on the fabulous course, and despite the constant threat of thunder and rain, we got off lightly with a light shower and enjoyed a tough standard of golf which reflected in the scoring at the end of the day.

Brickendon Grange golf course was set up and presented to a very high standard and we thank Louis

and the team.

There were 4 Nearest the Pins and they were won by

David Jackson 6th Hole - The Tower

David Jackson 9th Hole - Juniper

Chris Murray     11th Hole - Moorhens

Ray Grant          18th Hole - The Grange

There was also a prize for Nearest the Pin in two on the 17th Hole

The 17th - Ace of Hearts - Recently awarded the title of  "The finest Amateur Golf Hole in the UK"

Was also won by David Jackson

Following a sumptuous dinner served by Lynn and her team, accompanied by wine kindly donated by Greene King the main presentation of the Spring Saver was made

In 3rd place with     29  points was Louis Matamala from Verulam Golf Club ( absent at presentation)

In 2nd place with    31   points was Tony Welsh from Welwyn Garden City

In 1st place   with    35  points was David Jackson from Hadley Wood Golf Club - Congratulations to David.

Unbeknown to each player there was a second competition - Captain Vs Vice-Captain and the holder, the Vice Captain, reluctantly handed the Captain his prize of a bottle of Champagne for winning by 286 points with the Vice Captain's team achieving 231 points.

Well done Captain and all those in his team.

On behalf of the Captain, we would like to thank Stephen Bryan and all the team at Brickendon Grange for looking after us so well, plus our sponsors and help from Jordan, James and Jason from Intelligent Golf.
